Pouring Out, Filling Up
I had been praying for quite some time as to how to share with you my experience in walking with God, how when I fall He picks me up; or when I am in awe of His majesty, He becomes more majestic; or how when I am in pain, His presence is my resting place. Yet I couldn't quite find the conduit that worked best for me and for you. I battled with reasons as to why share and why I shouldn't share, until one of my sister's in Christ, unbeknown to her, answered the question (should I open a blog?) that I had been secretly asking the Lord. Our discussion had nothing to do with blogs; however, there came a point in the conversation when she said that whatever the Lord teaches us, we are to share with our brothers and sisters; we were to be like seeds that would allow the Word of God to germinate in us and not TERMINATE with us. And so Empty Vessels was opened.
Empty Vessels is the place where you and I can share our testimony (Pouring out), testimony of how the Lord transforms, changes us to His image, and His miracles in our lives; in doing so, we give glory to the Father and by this, be blessed (Filling up). His Blog is where I, Alicia, share what the Lord has pressed upon my heart to share with you, my brethren in the faith. The Writing on the Wall is where You can share with us your testimony of your walk with the Lord. This is a two-way street!
Please join me in sharing with each other the transformational walk with Christ that unites all those who have come to the feet of Jesus of Nazareth.
"But we have this treasure in earthen vessels,
that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us." 2 Cor 4:7
An empty vessel is of much use in deserts because it holds water and satisfies the thirst of many. If the vessels were full with sand instead of water, it would be detrimental to the people carrying them. Not only would they be tired of carrying them, but also, they would not be able to drink its contents because sand does not quench thirst. To read the rest of the story, click here.
